Six Sigma: Statistical Methods for Improvement

What is six sigma? how it controls the manufacturing process? Manufacturing activity is so complex and complicated. But in essence is how to deliver a quality product and in accordance with the criteria that the customer requested.

In the process of manufacture of products that do a lot of activities such as 5s which refers to Japanese culture in managing the workplace, lean manufacturing, six sigma, and so forth. In this article I will discuss about six sigma as a quality control activity.

Six Sigma is a quality control method in a systematic and structured based on data taken from the production process to improve the system by focusing on process variation reduction efforts while reducing defective.

Six Sigma itself consists of two words and six sigma, Sigma is a symbol of the standard deviation in statistical science. Six Sigma is driven by motorala Corporation in the 1980’s by an engineer named Bill Smith and supported by Motorola CEO Bob Galvin. Statistical tools combined with knowledge management to produce a method that has been recommended throughout the world, especially in manufacturing.
